Description
Fiber Optic Current Sensor (FOCS) is a new generation of high current measurement technique, which utilizes the Faraday effects in silica fiber material. In fiber sensing ring, transmitting light is split into left-hand circularly polarized light and right-hand circularly polarized light. External magnetic field causes phase difference between these two circularly polarized lights. With the Sagnac interferometer and interference detection, such phase different is accurately sensed and calibrated to the current under measurement. FOCS has inherent advantages of resistance to electromagnetic field interference and mechanical vibration, high accuracy, better isolation, low consumption, easy installation and light weigth.
